Overview

Mera Peak Climbing is one of Nepal’s most rewarding high-altitude adventures, combining accessibility with some of the most spectacular Himalayan scenery in the country. First ascended in 1953 by Jimmy Roberts and Sen Tenzing, who are believed to have reached the central summit, Mera Peak ranks among the highest of Nepal’s officially designated trekking peaks. Its relatively straightforward approach and non-technical climbing route make it especially popular, offering first-time climbers an ideal opportunity to experience mountaineering above 6,000 meters. Situated in the remote and unspoiled Hinku Valley, the journey leads through pristine forests, quiet alpine valleys, and traditional Sherpa settlements, far from the crowded Everest trails. From the summit, climbers are rewarded with one of the finest panoramic views in the Himalaya, taking in five of the world’s highest mountains- Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and Kanchenjunga. Blending dramatic natural beauty, rich mountain culture, and a powerful sense of personal achievement, Mera Peak climbing offers a classic and deeply fulfilling Himalayan experience.
